Artist's Inner Monologue:

This piece came from feeling shut out. The idea behind the headless figure is how gatekeeping in the art scene tore at my confidence ,bending me but couldn’t break me. The map of Botswana beneath the figure was or is intentional. That’s home, but sometimes it feels like you need permission to belong or be seen even in your own country. This is about reclaiming space even when you’ve been made to feel like you don’t have one.
